Recognizing that schedules have made traditional Sunday school less viable, we're planning something different this year that relies more on time in worship, learning at home, and once a month projects or experiences to help make connections to the world. Here is the basic plan:
  • Weekly extended children’s message during worship.  Some of the messages will also involve some interaction on the part of the congregation

  • The children’s message will be recorded and posted to YouTube for those who miss worship

  • Each month will have a theme – the schedule can be found here: First Semester Calendar

  • Once a month gatherings will include

    • A game or other activity to reinforce and incentivize children’s message

    • Some sort of project – service, arts, field trip, etc – that connects to the theme. If there are adults in the congregation who might have some special expertise with any of the project ideas, they’ll be invited to help

  • Take home devotions/conversation guide will be available each week

  • Both confirmation kids and younger kids will be asked to assist in worship

  • Kids’ worship bulletins will be available to help them follow along.  Before the program year starts, a faith formation area for all ages will be set up in the narthex

Confirmation for 7th and 8th graders will meet the first, second, and third Wednesdays of the month at 7 pm. We will use Google classroom to post assignments and videos. Invitations will be sent prior to class.
